Trust me I feel your pain! Having large pores is one big problem among women of all ages. Although you cannot eliminate these pesky pores completely, you can prevent and/or minimize their appearance with proper skin care and makeup techniques.
Tip 1: What you will need. You will need a good facial cleanser, a primer, foundation, and makeup sponge. Be ready with your blotting sheets or tissues as well.
Tip 2: Cleanse your face. The use of foaming facial cleanser or a grainy scrub will help remove dead skin cells, clear your pores, and will give you a smooth and glowing complexion. After cleansing, apply eye cream, a toner appropriate to your skin type with a cotton ball, and a moisturizer (daytime use a moisturizer with at least a 15 SPF).
Tip 3: Apply the primer. Applying primer is a must especially for women with oily skin. This will make your makeup stay longer and also hide enlarged open pores. It also creates an even surface for your make up and it prevents the foundation from sinking into your pores throughout the day.
Tip 4: Apply a foundation. Choose a noncomedogenic foundation that matches your skin tone (a product marked noncomedogenic does not contain ingredients proven to cause pore blockages). With a makeup sponge apply it thoroughly but be sure it’s not too heavy because it will sink into your pores during the day and will make them appear larger. Apply your foundation with a makeup sponge for a more precise and even application.
Tip 5: Apply powder. With the use of a large makeup brush you can now apply a loose or compact powder to set your makeup. Choose a powder that contains oil-absorbing ingredients, as it will eliminate the shine on your face. Now you can finish your makeup application with eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick, and blush!
Tip 6: Tips and warnings. Use makeup products that are oil-free, nonacnegenic and noncomedogenic. Make use of oil-free, water- based foundation that is compatible with your skin type. If you have sensitive skin you should use a facial cleanser that will exfoliate your skin without irritating it. Make use of blotting paper or tissues to eliminate shine. Always keep your skin clean by thoroughly washing twice a day and well moisturized to prevent enlarged pores. You can do a cleansing mask once a week to clean and nourish your akin. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS remove your makeup at night, pre-cleanse with a cleansing cloth then use your favorite cleanser to remove all traces of primer and foundation to clear your pores. Always keep your makeup kits clean to avoid breakouts.
These are tips on how to do makeup for large pores. Who says you need to be a beauty expert to do it on your own?!
